Reformer Pilates
All the springs and straps make sense once someone shows you.
The Reformer can look a little intimidating at first. It has a sliding carriage, adjustable springs, ropes and straps, but you’re not expected to walk in already knowing what any of them do.
Come in a little early and your instructor will help you set up, explain the equipment and make sure you feel ready before the class begins.

Reformer Pilates uses spring resistance and a moving carriage to support and challenge your body through a wide range of movements.
Throughout the class, you may lie, sit, kneel or stand on and around the Reformer. The springs can make an exercise more supportive or add resistance, depending on what you’re working on.
Classes focus on whole-body strength, stability, balance, flexibility and control. You’ll be guided through each exercise, including when to change springs or adjust your position.
-
A 45-minute, instructor-led class

Different spring settings and positions throughout the session

We highly recommend that you master the Pilates principles (Breath, centring, concentration, precision, control, flow) in Mat Pilates, before you attempt Reformer Pilates. The base of strength you build from Mat Pilates will certainly make your transition to Reformer more wholesome. Having said that, we leave it up to your own discretion.
